01

One steel set for the food you cook ahead

the batch loop · no transfers

Cook a big batch on Sunday and the friction starts on Monday: transfer dishes, stained tubs, orphan lids, a freezer that never stacks. One 304-steel set runs the whole loop — the same vessel you froze it in goes on the hob, to the table, through the dishwasher, then nests away.

01

Freeze / chill

Portion straight into steel. Freezer and fridge safe.

02

Reheat

Hob, oven or induction — low to medium heat.

03

Serve

Steel to the table. Half the weight of glass.

04

Dishwasher

Non-porous — curry washes clean, every time.

05

Nest away

Same-size set nests into one cupboard slot.

Loopware all-304 stainless steel food container and raised steel lid
Why steel, all the way to the lid

The underside of the lid is the whole point.

Your batch leftovers sit against the lid for days. Most lids — plastic, glass, even many steel tins — seal with a soft silicone gasket on the food side. Loopware’s lid is 304 steel where food touches: a mechanical friction fit, no gasket, just steel on steel.

02

The details that make it work

Friction-fit steel lid

Steel gripping steel — secure hold, easy on and off. Lift the whole container by the lid and it stays. No gasket, no clips.

Same-size nesting

Every container nests inside the next. Five 1.0L into one cupboard slot; the lids stack separately.

Laser-engraved capacity

The size is etched into both the body and the lid — match a lid to its base at a glance, even when three sets are in the drawer.

Dents maybe, never shatters

Drop it and it survives — half the weight of a glass box, and none of the risk of one on a tile floor.

Full disclosure — we test it, and hold the proof

We don’t just say “food-safe.” The grade is verified, the migration is tested, and the food-contact compliance is documented — each one tested by an independent, accredited third-party laboratory.

Grade verification

Confirmed genuine AISI 304 (18/8) stainless steel.

Migration test

Tested under hot, acidic conditions — none detected.

Food-contact compliance

Assessed to EC 1935/2004 for food-contact materials.

Happy to share the detail — email [email protected] and we’ll send you the report you’d like to see.

Product limitations

  • No microwave. Steel reflects microwaves; food heats unevenly. Reheat on the hob or in the oven.

  • Not fully airtight. A mechanical friction fit — no gasket. Sealed flat through fridge, freezer and a packed cupboard; not for loose liquids in a bag.

  • Opaque, so you label it. You can’t see through steel. Paper tape names the dish and date; a wax crayon is the low-waste choice.

  • Steel conducts heat. Use oven gloves off the hob or out of the oven. That’s steel being steel.

Zero waste, end to end

100%Recyclable
90%SS recycling rate

Why 304. AISI 304 (18/8) is the worldwide benchmark for food-contact metal — the grade used in commercial kitchens and hospital equipment. “Stainless steel” without a grade is vagueness, not transparency.

Forever recyclable. Single-element construction: at end of life it melts back into exactly the same steel, no quality loss, no mixed waste.

Questions

what people ask first
Can I put it in the microwave?
No — it’s stainless steel, and steel reflects microwaves. Other brands might claim microwave-safe, but the nature of this material simply isn’t suited to it. Reheat on the hob or in the oven instead; that’s where it’s at its best.
Any tips for reheating — or cooking — right in the container?
Yes — treat it like a small steel pan. Steel heats up quickly, but not always evenly (it depends on your heat source), so give the heat a way to spread: a splash of water when reheating acts as a heat-distribution layer through the food. If you’d rather not add water or oil, keep the food moving — constant stirring stops anything catching on the base. You can even cook straight from frozen — simmer in water until cooked through, drain, then a little oil and a constant-stir pan-fry to finish.
How does the lid stay on — anything to clip, or a seal to wear out?
It’s a mechanical friction-fit: the steel lid grips the rim, steel on steel. No clips to snap, no silicone seal to warp, mould or go missing.
Will it stain or smell like my plastic tubs?
No. Non-porous steel doesn’t soak up colour or odour the way plastic does, and there’s no silicone seal in the food path to trap grime — so no orange curry stains or smells that never quite wash out. This doesn’t mean there’s no chance a stain might stay on the stainless steel, but the situation is a world away from the experience you can get from plastic.
Will it leak if I pop it in my bag?
It’s built for home — fridge, freezer and kitchen handling. Laid flat it stays securely sealed, but it isn’t airtight, so it’s not for carrying soup or other liquid loose in a bag. Dry food travels fine.
Can I keep tomato, curry or salty food in it?
For everyday use, yes — keeping tomato, curry or salty leftovers in the fridge or freezer is exactly what it’s built for. At those low temperatures metal migration is negligible; the concerns you may have read about come from cooking acidic food in steel at high heat for hours, which is a different thing from cold storage. Our migration test was run under hot, acidic conditions with nothing detected — so storing all types of food is well within safety margins.
Any tips for labelling what’s inside?
Since it’s opaque, a quick label saves the guesswork. Paper tape is the most reliable — write the dish and date, and it peels off in the wash. A wax pencil is the lower-waste choice, though it takes a dab of cooking oil on a towel to wipe off. Either way, nothing gets lost at the back of the fridge.
What is Loopware?
Loopware is a brand based in London. Its mission is to use endlessly-recyclable materials — like stainless steel, which can be recycled again and again without losing quality — to replace wasteful, unsustainable products wherever that makes sense in everyday living.
Where is it made, and are you a UK company?
Yes, we are. The company behind Loopware is Palm & Pine Living Limited (company number 16983434), based in London. This stainless steel food container is made in China to our own specification, then independently lab-tested before it reaches you.
What’s the product guarantee?
Your Loopware container comes with a lifetime guarantee (for as long as you own it, under normal domestic use — not your own lifetime) against manufacturing defects. It’s built to last, so if something’s genuinely wrong, contact us and we’ll put it right. Full terms are in our published guarantee policy. This guarantee is in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
